Paul Walker's family are still coming to terms with his death. The late actor's younger brother Cody Walker revealed that they are "still recovering", 18 months after Paul tragically died in a car accident.

"Things have gotten better," Cody told E! News. "Time certainly helps but we're still recovering."

The 26-year-old also said that his brother would have been proud of Fast and Furious 7. Cody and his older brother Caleb, 37, stepped in to film scenes and help complete the film, which has since gone on to become the fastest film to ever make $1billion at the box office globally.

Cody Walker said his brother Paul Walker would be proud of Fast and Furious 7

"Of course [he'd be proud]. It's the best one yet, there's no doubt. It was a bit of a rollercoaster being part of that, but I got to do it with Caleb… that made it an easier process."

He added: "It wasn't just any film that Paul had been working on. This was a Fast and Furious movie. Everyone that was involved had been involved for years."

Before the film's release Cody had admitted he was "nervous" about watching the movie, telling E! News: "A lot of people are going to remember Paul by this movie, and I want it to be worthy."

Paul Walker had starred in the film franchise since 2001

However it appears he needn't have worried – the movie has captivated audiences around the world and is now the seventh biggest film of all time.

It has since been confirmed that there will be an eighth Fast and Furious movie, with Vin Diesel announcing at CinemaCon that it will hit cinema screens on 14 April 2017.

The actor also took the opportunity to pay tribute to his late friend, saying: "I swear to you and I swear to my brother upstairs, we are going to make the best movie you've ever seen."
