With tickets costing over £16,000 each, only the crème de la crème of the fashion world were able to attend this year's Met Gala. Luckily for fans, most of the stars were quick to share snaps online, from their getting ready looks to inside the dinner.

Instagram feeds were flooded with photos of celebrities posing throughout the night.

Kim Kardashian, who attended with her rapper husband Kanye West, mingled with the likes of music royalty Madonna and Lady Gaga – while also grabbing the chance to walk the white carpet with her "idol" Jennifer Lopez.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star dressed her womanly curves in a semi-transparent gown that featured silver embellishment, but left all attention to her famous derriere.

The back of Kim's gown featured an exquisite feathered train, which she flaunted in one Instagram snap captioned "With my idol @jlo".

Her half-sister Kendall Jenner posed with their close friend Olivier Rousteing, the creative director of Balmain who is Kim's go-to man in Paris when it comes to dressing to impress. Posting a selfie of Olivier whispering in her ear, Kendall playfully captioned the image, "secrets? @olivier_rousteing".
