Katie Piper has had to return to hospital to have more throat surgery, following an initial operation in March. Since then, the inspiring star has been in and out of hospital, after complications arose from her first treatment.
Katie was having scar tissue removed from a 2008 acid attack by her ex-boyfriend.
Sharing a photo on Instagram wearing a hospital gown and giving her winning smile, Katie wrote: "Back down to theatre for me this morning – praying today may be the last operation on my throat for a while. Nearly there :)."

The doting mum updated her social media followers after the procedure, but it wasn't great news. Trying to remain positive, Katie wrote on Twitter: "It wasn't my day today – require further surgery next week, c'est la vie!"
The author was first treated for a routine operation in March, but had to be readmitted to hospital after suffering with sickness and pain and losing a stone in weight. This meant that she missed her daughter Belle's first birthday party, the adorable child that she shares with her fiancé James Sutton.

It's been a long recovery process for Katie, who was 24 when she fell victim to an attack by her ex-boyfriend. At the time, the model had sulphuric acid thrown in her face, which resulted in her being placed in an induced coma in intensive care.
The 31-year-old has constantly remained optimistic however, and often takes to social media to inspire her followers.
She recently uploaded a post-it note of a quote that read, "You may be climbing a mountain right now but think of the view at the top." Another photo on Instagram was a quote by Kahlil Gibran that read, "Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars."

Some of her latest photographs have centred around her little bundle of joy, Belle, who she welcomed in March 2014 with James.
The star is fiercely protective of her daughter's identity and usually blocks out her face in photos. One snap showed toddler Belle going up a shoe size, which Katie captioned, "Moments when you realise your little baby is growing into a girl!"
