Sofia Vergara gets star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Sofia Vergara received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her Emmy Award-winning role on Modern Family on Thursday, and the Colombian beauty stepped out in all her golden glory to mark the special occasion. Dressed in a strapless, floral embroidered gold dress accessorised with matching celebrity-favourite Neil Lane jewels, Nicholas Kirkwood heels and her long tresses in loose waves, the 42-year-old actress glowed next to her handsome fiancé, Joe Manganiello.

Another special someone there with Sofia was her son Manolo, who spoke at the podium on her behalf. And of course her Modern Family co-stars – Julie Bowen, Ed O'Neill and Eric Stonestreet – were also in attendance at the ceremony.Sofia’s star is the 2,551st plaque on the walkway, and is situated adjacent to Ed’s, who plays her husband on the sitcom. "It is such an honor to be given this recognition," the star posted on her website. She also shared several snaps of the starry celebrations, which included several nods to her home country in the form of flags and crowns reading ‘Colombia’.The Hot Pursuit actress is having an excellent week – she confirmed just a few days ago that she and fiancé Joe have chosen the date for their wedding. "Yeah we have a date," Sofia, 42, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. "It was kind of difficult because we're both working, and you never know what's going to come in our work. But we had to stick to it because it was impossible to book a place with short notice."

The Modern Family star didn't reveal the wedding date, but she did admit the celebration was going to be "large"."I had to invite like all my family and Joe has a lot of friends, so it became bigger and bigger and bigger," Sofia said.It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the actress though. She has been embroiled in a battle with her ex Nick over embryos they created while they were still together.She recently broke her silence on Nick's fight to use the embryos and become a single parent, stating that his lawsuit "makes no sense".A child "needs a loving relationship of parents that get along, that don't hate each other," Sofia said during an interview with Howard Stern.
