Newlyweds Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed return from honeymoon

It looks like the honeymoon period is set to continue for Ian Somerhalder and his new wife Nikki Reed. While the couple have returned from their idyllic post-wedding holiday in South and Central America, the loved-up pair are still on cloud nine. "Feet back on US soil aka... New York City," Ian captioned a photo of the duo taken during their trip. "Dreaming of the Costa Rica rainforest. Thank you to this beautiful country: its land and its people."Thank you to this beautiful woman who makes every day a dream come true," he added. "Pura Vida."

Newlywed Nikki was also missing the tropical magic of Costa Rica and shared a video of herself feeding some birds from a small handheld tray. "I'll never forget this," she wrote alongside the clip. "One of the most beautiful things I've ever experienced. Just, ya know, feeding hummingbirds and stuff. No big deal. I wish you were with us G-pa. Actually you probably were. "Before Costa Rica, the couple had visited Brazil and Nikki shared a photo of the happy couple cuddling up together on a beach with the caption: "Salty...sandy...sticky...sunburned. The best. I love this human. My human. "

Ian and Nikki tied the knot in April, in a beautiful sunset ceremony which is thought to have taken place in Santa Monica, California.Photographs of the couple emerged on Twitter showing 26-year-old Nikki wearing a beautiful custom couture Claire Pettibone beaded ivory gown, featuring a plunging low back, illusion lace neckline and delicate long sleeves.

The LA-born actress carried a white wedding bouquet, while her new husband, 36, was smartly dressed in a white suit and shirt.One sweet snapshot showed Ian carrying his bride across the grass before they posed for wedding pictures with their friends and family.
