Bruce Jenner's family may have found it difficult to come to terms with his gender transition, but his happiness is their main priority. The former Olympian's step-daughter Khloé Kardashian also revealed that they hope to help others by discussing Bruce's transition so publicly.

"We just want Bruce to be happy and everybody else who is going through that," the 30-year-old told E! at the NBC Universal Cable upfront presentations on Thursday.

The family have documented their conversations with Bruce in a two-part episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce – to air on 17 and 18 May – and Khloé admitted that viewers will see very "raw" reactions from the family as they come to terms with Bruce's life-changing news.

"It definitely is Bruce's story but it's coming from a very… it's very raw, incredibly rough," she said. "You get very raw, real reactions from us coz there's a lot of things that are coming to the forefront while we're taping."

Meanwhile the reality TV star's mother – and Bruce's ex-wife – Kris Jenner agrees: "You see raw, raw, raw footage."

The matriarch of the family had a particularly tough time dealing with Bruce's transition, and in a trailer for the upcoming television programme she confessed: "I felt like, my life, did it matter, was it real? And that's how I was feeling at that very moment before I had time to really digest it."

Kris has since given her full support to her former husband, with the 65-year-old saying he felt "overwhelmed" by love from her.

"You know, Kris is a really good woman and I love her to death," Bruce admits in the programme. "And the love and acceptance I have gotten from Kris is absolutely overwhelming."

After much speculation, Bruce confirmed that he is transgender in an in-depth interview with Diane Sawyer in April. Almost 17 million people tuned in to watch the interview, with fans, family and famous people alike all expressing their support for Bruce.
