Their smiles said it all; Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field were utterly united as they posed together at the Chopard party in Cannes on Monday. The tactile husband and wife appeared not to have a care in the world, laughing and joking together as they arrived for the glitzy bash.Robbie, 41, couldn’t stop smiling as he proudly stood next to the mother of his children, who looked elegant in a black gown and was dripping in diamonds. He was dressed in a velvet blazer teamed with black trousers, a white shirt and a bowtie, and was still sporting his bleach blond hair.

Ayda, 36, and Robbie's appearance at the party was their second in Cannes; earlier in the week, they walked the red carpet at The Sea of Trees premiere. On both occasions they appeared happy and relaxed, despite the recent lawsuit brought against them by their former assistant Gilles De Bonfilhs. The couple have said they will "strenuously" defend themselves against their "disgruntled" ex-employee's allegations – which include his claims that Ayda "walked around in various stages of undress" and "asked him to answer questions and comment on her body".Robbie's father is among those to have spoken out in support of his daughter-in-law, telling the Sun that the lawsuit is a "total load of rubbish". "It's really distasteful because she is the mother of very young kids," Pete Conway said.

He also emphasised how happy Robbie and Ayda are together. "Their relationship is completely healthy and they are very much in love," he added. "You only have to look at them to know that they are totally in love and wonderful."Robbie and Ayda have been in relationship since 2006, and were married at their Beverly Hills mansion in 2010. They are parents to two children; two-year-old Theodora, known affectionately as Teddy, and son Charlton Valentine, who was born in October 2014.
