Kris Jenner has showed her overwhelming support for her ex-husband Bruce Jenner following his transition to becoming a woman – but in a moment of painful truth, the reality TV star admitted that she felt as if she had lost her former partner.
Kris and Bruce were filmed having an emotional conversation as part of E!'s About Bruce special, where the pair discussed the former Olympian's difficult journey.
Bruce apologised for not being truthful about his desire to become a woman, while the couple were married for nearly 25 years.
Kris Jenner said that all she cared about was Bruce finding "the peace" he's been looking for
"I just miss Bruce," said Kris. "And that's going to take me a minute to mourn that relationship. You think you're going to grow old with somebody, and they drastically change over the course of just a few years.
"All I have really is my memories," she added. "I look at pictures of you and the kids, and I'm really sad because I feel like you died. You know, Bruce died. And it's really hard for me to wrap my head around."
"I still love you, baby," Bruce said. "Is there anything I can do now to make it better for you?"
Kris, 59, asked him to "just live the happiest life you can live."
"That's all I care about," she said. "And that you can find the peace you've been looking for for so long."
"You think you're going to grow old with somebody, and they drastically change," Kris Jenner told her ex-husband
Kris and Bruce, who are parents to model Kendall Jenner and teenager Kylie, announced their split in October 2013. The couple officially divorced in March of this year, after which the former track and field athlete admitted publicly that he is transgender and has been dealing with gender dysphoria since his youth.
Bruce's family – including Kris, his daughters and his stepdaughters Kim and Khloé Kardashian among other relatives – have showered Bruce with support.
In a past episode of About Bruce, the 65-year-old said that the "love and acceptance" he has received from Kris has been "absolutely overwhelming".
Meanwhile, queen of reality TV Kim revealed that she knows Bruce's new name, and that he looks beautiful in his female identity. "It was amazing and she looked beautiful, really beautiful," Kim told Access Hollywood. "She was dressed up, beautiful make-up, beautiful hair, very, very beautiful and very comfortable."
