Sir Elton John was no doubt a talking point at his school reunion, after the singer flew in from Las Vegas to surprise his old friends. The I'm Still Standing chart-topper hadn't seen some of his classmates since he left Pinner County Grammar School aged 17 to pursue a career in the music industry.
Retuning back to his roots over the weekend, Elton reminisced about the good old times and shared some sweet photos on Instagram from the reunion.
One group shot showed the singer taking centre stage. "Lunch at home with dear old school friends. Many of whom I haven't seen for 50 years!" Elton captioned the snap.

"It was as if we never left school. So much laughter and so many wonderful memories. #ShareTheLove #PinnerCountyGrammarSchool #Classof58," he added.
The 68-year-old looked particularly thrilled to catch up with one old chum Keith Francis, whom he called a "loyal friend". The pair posed for a photo together and were both pictured grinning from ear-to-ear.
"My oldest pal Keith Francis," wrote Elton. "A wonderful, loyal friend for 57 years and still counting! He flew all the way from Australia for our class reunion. Love you so much. #ShareTheLove #PinnerCountyGrammarSchool #Classof58."

The talented songwriter was educated at the north west London school until his late teens, but Elton left just before his A Level exams to carve his name in the music industry.
Both of his parents were musically inclined although Elton's father Stanley Dwight is said to have encouraged his son to follow a more conventional career such as banking. Stanley never watched his son perform, something which Elton feels may have been related to homophobia.
"My father was sealed off from my talent and I never knew why," Elton has previously written in The Times. "Was it homophobia? Was it fear? That was a painful loss for me. But it was also a painful loss, I think, for my dad. That's what prejudice does to people."

The singer is also known to have feuded with his mother and the pair have not spoken for seven years, although Elton still pays his mum's bills and sent her a single white orchid for her 90th birthday.
He had flown over for the school reunion from Las Vegas, where he currently has his own residency at Caesars Palace, The Million Dollar Piano.
