Newlyweds Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder made their debut as a married couple on Wednesday evening. The lovebirds, who returned from their honeymoon a week ago, looked loved up as they walked the red carpet at the 68th Cannes Film Festival.

Nikki, who turned 27 on Sunday, looked radiant in a midnight blue Azzaro gown with a cape which billowed in the breeze. The backless gown featured a burnt red motif and Nikki let her wedding and engagement rings do the talking, choosing to forego any other accessories.
The gorgeous brunette wore her hair in tousled waves swept to one side. Her handsome beau wore a traditional tux, also by Azarro.
The Vampire Diaries star made sure his new bride looked her best by helping to unfold her cape which was fluttering as the winds picked up on the Croisette, and later took to Instagram shortly after their arrival to share his happiness with his fans at being at the famous festival.
Ian helped Nikki to ensure her dress fell properly
"Such a magical moment to be walking the stairs so many great names in the history of cinema have walked before me…" he wrote.
He went on to thank fashion brand Azzaro, adding: "And of course I could only do it wearing @azzaro_official / Thank you @Azzaro_official for making it possible #Azzaro WE THANK YOU!!"
The happy couple looked to be enjoying the festivities, and didn't appear at all jetlagged.
They had flown into Nice airport earlier on Wednesday, only days after arriving back in the US from Costa Rica.

The South American country was where the pair had ended their honeymoon - they started in Tulum, Mexico, before flying to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Santiago, Chile.
They confirmed they were engaged in January after a whirlwind six-month romance. "He's so beautiful inside and out," the excited actress said of Ian in January at Sundance Film Festival.
"He's quite possibly the most amazing man that's ever walked the planet, it's crazy. I'm so lucky, I love him."
