Perrie Edwards has joked about separating from her fiancé Zayn Malik. The Little Mix singer mocked how heavily scrutinised her relationship with the former One Direction star has been of late, saying that the media would no doubt report that couple had split after she stepped out without her engagement ring. The 21-year-old was notably missing her glittering diamond during an appearance on Capital FM, prompting DJs Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon to ask her whether all was well with her and Zayn.Perrie, who explained that the ring is simply being cleaned, laughingly said that she now expected to see rumours that the pair had called off their wedding."In the paper tomorrow we'll probably not be together anymore," she said. "Yeah, we'll be separated... I'll be heartbroken, it will all be over."
Perrie joked that not wearing her engagement ring would lead to rumours that the couple had split
Insisting that she was only joking, Perrie clarified that the diamond ring given to her by Zayn when he proposed in August 2013 was at the cleaners. "You know what, I feel naked, it’s horrible," she said. "You know when you get used to wearing something… but no, it's getting cleaned. "Perrie's comments came the day after Zayn's former bandmate Liam Payne revealed that the Bradford-born singer left the group in order to spend more time with his wife-to-be."Sometimes you have to move on because you're not enjoying what you're doing as much as you used to," he told Capital FM on Wednesday. "He wanted to spend time with his family and missus. That's cool with us."
