Harrison Ford 'very, very happy' to be flying again after crash

Harrison Ford proved his action man credentials are still intact by taking to the skies again three months after his plane crash. The Star Wars legend looked thrilled to be flying again when he was spotted at Santa Monica airport.

Walking with a slight limp but otherwise looking healthy, the millionaire actor got into the cockpit of a 2013 Bell 407 helicopter, reports People.

"This is the first time Harrison was back at the airport since his scary crash landing," a source told the magazine. "Harrison was very, very happy to be back at the airport. He kept smiling."

"He co-piloted his helicopter and flew up and down the coast with a friend for a couple of hours," the source added. "He seemed very excited about flying again."

After the accident the star's wife Calista Flockhart rushed to his side and spent every day at the hospital until he was released. Harrison reportedly told her that he intended to fly again as soon as possible, while she was supposedly urging him to take it easy.

The 72-year-old actor spent several weeks being treated for two broken bones and a deep cut to the head. He had been flying a World War II aircraft when the engine failed moments after take off. He managed to steer the plane away from houses and crashed on a golf course.

Friends joked about his seeming invincibility and rapid recovery. Peter Mayhew – best known as Chewbacca in Star Wars – quipped that he was tougher than his on-screen character in the franchise. "From Critical > Severe > Moderate > Fair, in the span of an hour. Is #HarrisonFord Han Solo or Wolverine?" he wrote.
