Victoria Beckham was thrilled when she discovered she was pregnant with her fourth child – even if she was initially told she would be having another son. "I was told when I had my scan that I was having another boy at first," the proud mum revealed this week during a talk about her fashion label in New York. "I felt so lucky to be pregnant, so whether Harper was going to be a boy or a girl I felt very blessed." But shortly before she was due to give birth, Victoria got a "lovely surprise"; doctors told her she was expecting a daughter.

Perhaps unsurprisingly with three big brothers – Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, and Cruz, 10 – to dote on her, Harper is turning into a bit of a tomboy."Harper loves football," Victoria said of her three-year-old. "It's like a dagger going into my heart!" she joked. "As much as she is girly, she's a tomboy as well. "The fashion designer also revealed that she and husband David Beckham like to be hands-on parents and work hard to ensure their children remain grounded – as demonstrated by the fact that Brooklyn has a weekend job."He's been working for two-and-a-half years," Victoria said of her eldest son. "He enjoys it – it's not like he puts up a fight. And it gives him a little bit of cash when he's going out with his friends."

She continued: "None of the kids have ever been spoiled other than the way that we love them. They're really happy kids. There's always laughter in the house. "That was especially true when the family sat down to watch the 1997 Spice Girls movie Spice World. "They laughed," she admitted. "They found it quite funny. "With such a happy home life, will Victoria and David be expanding their brood? "No," she said with a laugh. "I've got four! I feel like I've done my bit."
