They are arguably the most famous family in the world, but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt try to keep things as down to earth as possible for their six children. On Saturday, the couple and their brood were pictured boarding an Air France plane from Paris to Nice – taking seats in the economy section of the aircraft.Brad, 51, and Angelina, 40, were photographed putting their family's hand luggage into the overhead lockers before settling down with their children for the short flight from the French capital. Rather than taking a private jet, or opting for first class, they chose to sit alongside fellow passengers in the economy section on board the flight, after a two-hour wait at Charles de Gaulle airport.

Angelina, Brad and their children flew economy from Paris to Nice at the weekend

Angelina, Brad and their family spent the weekend making the long journey from LA back to France; most likely headed for their French estate Chateau Miraval in the village of Correns, which the famous couple have been leasing since 2008, and where they famously tied the knot last year. They first boarded an Air France flight out of LAX to Paris, before taking a domestic flight down to Nice. According to the Mail, the Jolie-Pitts appeared to be travelling without any bodyguards and just one of their nannies to help look after their children – Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, ten, Shiloh, nine and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.Their long-haul journey came just a few days after Angelina quietly celebrated her 40th birthday with her family. They marked the occasion privately, behind the closed doors of their LA home – although they will perhaps continue the celebrations at their French retreat.

Angelina recently admitted she is a very private person – which stands at odds with her career as an A-list actress. While speaking to Domhnall Gleeson for the new issue of Interview magazine, she was asked by the actor whether she was an "actor first then director"?"Yeah, well pretty much," she replied. "My mum always wanted me to be an actor. And I started going to theatre and going on auditions young. I only realised about five years ago that I actually didn't want to be an actor."She continued: "I'm a very private person. I don't go out much. I'm home with kids. I go to work. I don't really like being the focus of attention, which is why I like being behind the camera more."
