Amber Heard has suggested that she and Johnny Depp won't be going back to Australia any time soon, after the couple's pet dogs were ordered to leave the country last month. Johnny had brought his two Yorkshire terriers Boo and Pistol into Queensland by private jet, without complying to quarantine laws.

Government officials, including minister for agriculture Barnaby Joyce, responded by telling the actor to fly his dogs back out – or they would be put to sleep.

When asked how her pets were faring one month on, Amber said: "I have a feeling we're going to avoid the land Down Under from now on, just as much as we can, thanks to certain politicians there."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's pet dogs were ordered to leave Australia after failing to comply with quarantine laws

The 29-year-old actress was speaking live from the US on Australian TV programme Sunrise, to promote her new film Magic Mike XXL, when she made the comments.

"I don't know, I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials," she said.

Amber, who married Hollywood star Johnny in February of this year, was most likely referring to Mr Joyce, the minister of agriculture.

The 52-year-old actor arrived in Queensland by private jet to film the fifth instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean

The politician publicly stated, "We can't make an exception for Johnny Depp. We have strict laws for a reason," while also adding, "If we start letting movie stars come into our nation, why don't we just break the laws for everybody?"

Amber and Johnny and their two pet dogs had flown into Queensland via private jet, where the 52-year-old actor was filming the fifth instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean. The star had not gathered the correct documentation for his pet dogs, nor declared them through customs when he arrived.

Johnny sent his dogs back to the US in the same private jet, accompanied by his wife's parents, before the 50-hour deadline.
