After Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden tied the knot in secret, fans have been hoping that the couple will surprise them with another announcement – perhaps that they are having a baby. While no such news has yet surfaced, rock star Benji has hinted that he would like to have children with his new wife.
"I have a great family, so I'm lucky I've gotten to experience all the joys of having a family," Benji told Australia's WHO magazine. "I love kids, yeah."
Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz married in secret in January, after seven months of dating
The Good Charlotte guitarist married his Hollywood love in January, in an intimate ceremony at Cameron's Beverly Hills mansion. Their secret wedding came just seven months after they started dating.
At the time Cameron, 42, and Benji, 36, released a statement to People saying that they "couldn't be happier to begin our new journey surrounded by our closest family and friends".
The couple tied the knot in front of 90-plus guests, including Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and bridesmaid Drew Barrymore. Benji's twin brother Joel Madden and his wife Nicole Richie also attended with their children, Harlow and Sparrow, who acted as ringbearer.
Cameron, 42, has previously been the subject of pregnancy speculation
The two Madden brothers and their wives have been spending a lot of time together, after Joel and Nicole recently moved their family into the same street as Benji and Cameron.
Nicole and Cameron enjoy a close relationship, and it was in fact Lionel Richie's daughter who played matchmaker.
"I'm going to take responsibility for everything," Nicole said on Watch What Happens Live last summer. "I approve of anything that's going to make Benji happy. I am a devoted sister-in-law. I'm happy for anyone who is happy, and I want everyone to be surrounded with love."
Shortly after she got married, Cameron was the subject of pregnancy speculation – but her personal trainer put those baby rumours to rest when he opened up about her gruelling four-times-a-week exercise regimes, which have still been "consistent" following her nuptials.
