As their family once again faces a difficult period of relationship woes, Kim Kardashian has been giving a glimpse into her daughter's close bond with her little cousin in a series of adorable pictures. In the Instagram posts North West and Penelope Disick are seen cuddling up to each other. The queen of reality TV shared the images with her 38.6million followers to celebrate her niece's third birthday on Wednesday.
Kim Kardashian shared several pictures which showed off North and Penelope's sweet relationship
One caption read: "Happy Birthday P! I know your bday was yesterday but we were celebrating all day! Thanks for being the best big cousin North always looks up to! I love you!"
Her affectionate gesture is a sign of solidarity with Penelope's mother Kourtney Kardashian who appears to be in the midst of a separation from her partner of nine years Scott Disick.
The couple – who have two other children, boys Mason, 5, and six-month Reign – seem to have reached the end of the road after he was seen getting close with an ex-girlfriend. It follows a month-long absence from their home in California, in which he has been making club appearances in Monte Carlo and Las Vegas.
The duo spend a lot of time in each other's company, they are often spotted going to dancing lessons together
On Thursday, the mother-of-three apparently had Scott's belongings moved out of their house. An assistant was photographed carrying armfuls of clothes and other personal items from the family's Beverly Hills property.
While she's maintained a dignified silence about the state of the relationship, Kourtney has made it clear who she is relying on. She uploaded an Instagram picture taken with her siblings Kim and Khloé at an early morning work out session together in the rain. "My aces," she wrote. "Can you have 2 aces?! Well lucky me, I do."
Penelope is nearly a year older than cousin North, who was born in June 2013
The sisters celebrated Penelope's big day with a trip to Disneyland, while Scott sent birthday greetings from Europe.
Meanwhile, the girls' mother Kris Jenner has said her eldest daughter is staying strong. "She's good. Kourtney's good," said the Kardashian matriarch on Tuesday. "[She's] hanging in there."
