Mark Wright has said he stands by his decision to publicly message his ex-girlfriend Lauren Goodger, to urge her to stop speaking about him and his wife Michelle Keegan in her weekly magazine column. In a new interview, Mark said he felt compelled to tweet Lauren while on honeymoon with Michelle last month and that he doesn't regret what he said."I didn't know how else to get my point across," the 28-year-old said in an interview with the Sun's Fabulous magazine. "I was backed into a corner and I didn't know any other way to let my feelings out and explain how I felt. It was a plea."

He continued: "I'm not going to talk to her, I'm not going to do interviews, so my last resort after taking so much was this. And what I said in my tweets, I stand by."Mark took to Twitter while on honeymoon to tell Lauren to "respect my wife and STOP" after she posted a series of Instagram pictures many believe were aimed at Mark and Michelle – although she claimed they were about her on-off boyfriend Jake McLean. Then, in a bizarre twist, Lauren was photographed on holiday in Dubai at the same time that Michelle and Mark – which she later said was a surprise arranged by Jake.

"Well I can't comment on that because I don't know what that's all about," Mark said, when asked about the holidays. "Her boyfriend might have booked that as a surprise and she can't help that. "But whatever it may be, when that happens time and time again, I feel like a bit of a mug if I don't say anything back. I had to stand up for myself and my wife and beg her to stop. I hope she'd now feel silly to try again."Of course, Mark couldn't help but enthuse about his new wife Michelle in the interview, and confessed that being her husband was a "great feeling"."Being married doesn't make you wake up feeling different, but I certainly feel more settled," he said. "It's something I've always wanted, being a husband. When you find The One it's such a great feeling. Now let's go on to the next step and have babies and start a family!"
