Stacey Solomon and Steve-O split: 'She's really hurt by the whole situation'

July 27, 2015

After emerging as one of this year's surprise celebrity couples, Stacey Solomon and Steve-O have reportedly split. The singer made the shock announcement through her representative who confirmed the break-up.

"Stacey and Steve-O are no longer together," the spokesperson told MailOnline. "Stacey is really hurt by the whole situation, and it's not something she feels able to talk about at this moment in time."

The former X Factor star and the Jackass stuntman apparently struggled to maintain their long-distance six-month relationship. Stacey is based in the UK with her two sons while Steve-O often travels around the US for his shows.

"Stacey found it hard being away from Steve-O so they decided to put their relationship on hold," another source told The Sun. "He has a huge tour in the States, as that's where his fan base is. The relationship developed quickly and was a real whirlwind, but for the time being it's not to be."

Stacey, 25, and her 41-year-old ex-boyfriend surprised fans when they first started dating. The couple met while filming The Jump and a romance blossomed from there. Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, posted a photo of the couple at the end of January, calling his girlfriend the "coolest chick ever".

"Stacey found it hard being away from Steve-O," an insider said of the long-distance relationship

"We were in Austria for six weeks together [for The Jump] and pretty much on the first night I was just getting creepy and looking her up online," Steve-O admitted on Celebrity Juice. "I liked her right away and we just started having a great time."

On the comments that he and Stacey are so different, Steve-O added: "Everyone says that we're so opposite but I don't see it."

"My focus is on my children and my work," Stacey has said in the past

News of their split may have shocked some fans. Just two months ago the Shy singer flew to LA to surprise her boyfriend and the couple made a very loved-up appearance on the red carpet.

"I have no idea how it happened – I get really embarrassed (mentioning it)," Stacey told Free Radio about her budding romance. "I remember feeling like this independent woman who was like 'No! I don't want to be with anybody. Stay away.'"

The mum of two sons Zachary and Leighton added: "My focus is on my children and my work, but then it got to the end of the show and, for some reason, I wasn't happy about the fact that I might never see him again and it went from there."
