No Doubt singer Gwen, 45, and Bush rocker Gavin, 49, have three sons together: Kingston, nine, Zuma, who will be seven this month, and Apollo, 17 months. The couple first met when their bands toured together in 1995, and dated for six years before they were married in 2002 – they were due to celebrate their 13 year wedding anniversary on 14 September.Speaking during an interview on the Today Show in January, Gwen became emotional as she opened up about her marriage. "If I look back on the whole thing the one thing that's been consistent is that we both want the same thing," she said.
In an interview earlier this year, Gwen said she was "proud" of the couple's relationship
"We both want to be married. We both want to be good parents, and so I feel really proud of what we've done together and that we don't…. You're gonna get me crying, no don't – I'm going to get all emotional! But I am really proud of it."The couple have reportedly both cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce documents and are seeking joint custody of their children. They also plan to divide their assets equally – according to TMZ, the two musicians did not sign a prenuptial agreements before tying the knot.
