Emily Blunt becomes US citizen at same ceremony as Camila Alves

August 7, 2015

Matthew McConaughey's wife Camila Alves was joined by another famous face as she became an American citizen on Tuesday. British actress Emily Blunt also said her pledge of allegiance to officially become a citizen of the United States in the same ceremony.

Emily was joined by her husband John Krasinski for the legal oath ceremony, which was held at the United States Court House in Los Angeles. The 32-year-old was pictured leaving the courthouse hand-in-hand with her husband, and looked typically chic in a white summer dress and grey sandals.

Emily Blunt married John Krasinski in 2010

Emily married The Office actor John in 2010, and the couple welcomed their daughter Hazel in February 2014. The family live in Ojai, California, and despite previously admitting she misses "the irreverence of the British," Emily has no plans to move back to her native England.

"Our lives are here, all our friends are here," she told The Telegraph.

Two such friends are Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, whose surprise wedding Emily and John attended on Wednesday. The couple were among a number of A-List guests including Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Ellen DeGeneres at the secret nuptials, hosted at Jennifer and Justin's luxurious Bel Air mansion.
