Simon Cowell is enjoying some family time before the new series of The X Factor starts. The music mogul shared a rare family photo of himself with girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their son Eric from their relaxing holiday in Formentera, Spain.
The 55-year-old didn't caption the image, which shows him sitting in swim shorts with one arm around Eric, while Lauren cuddles up to them both. Their toddler Eric was protected from the sun wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts with a matching sun hat.
Simon is enjoying a well-deserved break with his loved ones as he continues to grieve for his mother Julie, who passed away in July leaving him heartbroken. While he took two days off from The X Factor to grieve, he then went straight back to holding auditions to find the nation's next pop star, explaining that he "didn't want to burden anyone else with my problem".
The reality TV judge has been seeking comfort in his partner and son, and is regularly joined by them both on set while he films the audition stages of the long-running entertainment show. His colleague and friend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini recently posted an amusing picture of Simon sitting in a golf buggy with Eric on his lap, with the father-son duo wearing almost identical outfits.

Eric appears to be taking after his famous father, who recently joked that his son spends so much time with his pet dogs Squiddly and Diddly that he's worried his first word may come out as a bark.
"I have no idea what he is going to talk like," Simon told the Daily Star. "His mum is American, I am English and a lot of the girls in my house are from the Philippines."
He added: "He spends a lot of time with Squiddly and Diddly. He is going to end up barking."
