George and Amal Clooney look loved-up in Ibiza ahead of first wedding anniversary

August 24, 2015

George and Amal Clooney appear to still be in the honeymoon phase as they approach their first wedding anniversary. The couple, who tied the knot in Venice in September 2014, appeared well and truly loved up as they celebrated the launch of George's tequila brand in Ibiza on Sunday night.

Ocean's Eleven star George couldn't keep his eyes off Amal, who looked stunning in a dazzling gold Vionnet mini dress and black Dior heels. The couple put on a rare public display of affection as they embraced and gazed into each other's eyes, with George later seen with Amal's red lipstick on his cheek as they posed with a group of friends including George's business partner Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford.

Other guests at the party included photographer Mario Testino, James Blunt and his wife Sophia Wellesley and make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury – who did Amal's make-up on her wedding day.

The group sipped on Casamigos tequila cocktails and feasted on canapés at the rooftop bar before watching DJ Avicii play his resident Sunday night set at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel.

George and Amal have not been shy of their love for one another since they became man and wife in a romantic Venetian ceremony in September. The actor told his wife that he "couldn't be more proud to be your husband" as he accepted an award at the Golden Globes in January, and has since said that the human rights lawyer is "the smart one" in their marriage.

The couple are preparing to start a new chapter in their marriage by moving into their luxurious nine-bedroom mansion in Sonning, Berkshire in the coming weeks. George and Amal are currently renovating the Grade II listed estate, and are believed to have had a swimming pool and pool house added to the property, along with a large terrace and a private cinema.

The high-profile pair recently won permission to install CCTV cameras around the country home to heighten security, despite concerns from neighbours who believed it could infringe their privacy.
