As she prepares to give birth to her second baby any day now, Fearne Cotton has been reminiscing on the events of the past summer. The 33-year-old presenter, who is married to music royalty Jesse Wood, has shared a photo on Twitter of a very special occasion from June.

Fearne had the chance to meet the Queen when she attended a reception to present The Queen's Young Leaders Awards at Buckingham Palace on 22 June.

Sharing a throwback photo of the reigning monarch, Fearne wrote: "It was wonderful to be part of the young leader initiative and to meet the queen again earlier this summer."

The last time Fearne was pictured meeting the Queen was in 2011, at a reception for media to mark the forthcoming Diamond Jubilee.

In the Twitter snap, the pregnant star was seen shaking hands with the 89-year-old monarch and mirroring the Queen's warm smile. Fearne had dressed her growing bump in a gorgeous shift dress that featured a high neckline, long sleeves and a colourful print of a flamingo and a cherry blossom tree.

She was attending the special reception alongside other celebrities including David Beckham, David Walliams and John Bishop. Making up the royal party, Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice supported Her Majesty.

The ceremony was held to celebrate the winners of the Queen's Young Leaders Awards – a programme to find the most exceptional young people aged between 18 and 29 from across the Commonwealth.

The winners, who accepted their award in person from the Queen, are recognised for taking the lead in their communities and using their skills to transform lives.

Fearne announced that she and her husband Jesse were expecting their second baby in February, at the same time that she confirmed that she was leaving BBC Radio 1. The couple, who married last summer, are already parents to a two-year-old son Rex.
