Coleen Rooney's son Kai looked adorable as he returned to school on Wednesday. The proud mum shared a photo of the five-year-old in his uniform on Instagram as he prepared to go back to school after the summer holidays.

Kai looked happy to be going back to class in a cute grey pinstripe blazer and shorts with matching knee socks and a hat. He held hands with his two-year-old brother Klay, who was dressed in a Manchester United kit and grinned for the sweet family photo.

"Back to school for Kai," Coleen captioned the picture, which quickly attracted lots of comments from fans on how cute the youngsters are. Her husband Wayne later shared the sweet image to his own Instagram account, where it clocked up over 87,000 likes from his fans.

The couple will soon have another little one in the family as they are expecting their third child together in January. Coleen announced her pregnancy in July and has since admitted to HELLO! magazine that it "would be nice" to have a daughter.

"I honestly don't mind," said the 29-year-old. "But a girl would be nice to complete the family, of course."

She added: "I feel great. I was really tired during the first few weeks, but I think when you've got other kids, you've just got to get on with it."

However it seems it was Wayne, Kai and Klay who were struggling to get out of bed during the summer holidays; Coleen shared a snap of her boys fast asleep together on Facebook in August, writing: "Couldn't get these 3 out of bed."

Coleen and Wayne, who first started dating when they were 16, announced they were expecting another baby on Twitter. "Baby number 3 is on the way……. January!!" Coleen tweeted. "We are so happy and excited."
