Meghan Trainor is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery on her vocal chords. This week, the 21-year-old singer posted before and after selfies on her Instagram account after having surgery on her throat. "My before and after pics," she wrote alongside. "I look so hurt. I survived tho! Now napping on the couch with mama and getting free head rubs. Any movie suggestions?"
Meghan Trainor is recovering after surgery on her vocal cords
Meghan was forced to cancel her US tour in August after she haemorrhaged her vocal cord for the second time, and was later told she needed surgery. She announced the news in an emotional Instagram post, explaining how bronchitis had worsened her condition."I am devastated, scared and so sorry," she told her fans. "I LOVE touring and seeing your beautiful faces every night. I am determined to do what it takes to get better and come back around stronger than even. "Fellow chart toppers Sam Smith and Jess Glynn have both suffered with vocal problems in recent months, and in 2011 Adele had to cancel tour dates because of ongoing problems with her voice – she went on to have microsurgery to fix the issue.
Sam Smith publicly thanked his surgeon Dr Steven Zeitels
Both Sam and Adele were treated by Dr Stevens Zeitels, who has performed the same surgery on the likes of Lionel Richie, Julie Andrews and Steven Tyler. Sam went on to publicly thank the doctor on his Instagram account. "You have truly saved me this past few months," the Stay With Me singer wrote. "Such an amazing man. You truly truly truly don't know what you’ve got until you lose it. "I have fallen in love with music all over again this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx."
