Mariah Carey enjoys family trip to the zoo with twins Moroccan and Monroe

Mariah Carey ensured her twins Moroccan and Monroe enjoyed a fun-filled weekend with trips to the zoo and a fair. The Hero singer kick-started their Labor Day celebrations with a visit to Bronx Zoo on Sunday, which she shared with her fans on Instagram.

Looking glamorous in a denim jumpsuit and oversized sunglasses, Mariah paid a visit to the zoo's farm animals and stopped to feed the sheep. "C'mon it's LAMBTASTIC #lambs #lambily #mariahcarey @bronxzoo," she wrote. The singer often refers to her fans as "lambs" in a term of endearment on social media.

Mariah later posted a picture of herself with daughter Monroe, who was playing around with a pair of giant animal ears.

Mariah Carey took her twins to the zoo on Sunday

"Me and miss Monroe. Happy Labor Day! #mariahcarey @bronxzoo," she captioned the image.

Son Monroe wasn't left out either; the excitable youngster cuddled up to his mum for a photo in front of a turtle enclosure, with Mariah telling fans: "Rock rock the planet rock! Don't stop!!! #mariahcarey @bronxzoo #laborday #zoo."

Mariah appeared thrilled to be spending the holiday at the zoo with her children, and continued their action-packed weekend by flying with them to California, where they attended Malibu's annual carnival together on Monday.

Mariah was joined by her twins when she was honoured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The 45-year-old dotes on her twins, and was joined by them on the red carpet when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in August. She recently said they are "the most important thing" to her as she talked about how she and ex-husband Nick Cannon are managing to co-parent their children following their split in 2014.

"They’re always with me," she told E! News. "They're with me or they're with their father. It is what it is and I would never just be like, 'I'm going, you're not going to be with me.' They wouldn't understand that. So they're the most important thing to me. Their family is going to be here. They're going to be great."

Indeed the former couple have maintained a good relationship and reunited to celebrate Easter with their twins in April, where they hosted an extra special Easter egg hunt, once again at Bronx Zoo.
