Geri Halliwell on finding her Prince Charming Christian Horner

September 8, 2015

Geri Halliwell was in a relationship with Christian Horner for just over a year before the couple tied the knot in May. But the former Spice Girl knew from day one that she had found her Prince Charming, and speaking in a new interview, Geri has reminisced on her recent nuptials.

"People talk about their wedding day and until you get there, you don't really know what it's going to be like," the singer told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning. "It truly was the happiest day of my life, it was so amazing."

"The thing is my mother, she got divorced so it kind of put me off a bit if I'm honest and I hadn't met anyone that I felt it was right [with] really," said Geri. "And when I met Christian, I automatically knew, I did, I actually said to my friend, 'I think I've met the man I want to marry'."

"When I met Christian, I automatically knew," said Geri of her new husband

Geri, 43, and Christian, 41, said "I do" on Friday 15 May at St Mary's Church in Bedfordshire in front of their family and friends. The bride was accompanied down the aisle by her nine-year-old daughter Bluebell, who was wearing a blue dress with a large floral crown made up of freesias.

Following the ceremony, Geri and Christian jetted off to the south of France for a "mini moon" before Christian, the Team Principal of the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One team, had to attend to work duties.

The couple enjoyed a mini-moon in Cannes and Monaco following their May wedding

"It's really weird saying 'my husband' but my husband, he works for a race team," said Geri of the trip. "He runs a team and it was the Monaco Grand Prix a few days later. He had the race on at the weekend so we had a little mini break up in the mountains outside of Cannes, a mini-moon."

Apart from stealing the spotlight for her recent wedding, Geri and her former bandmates have also been the subject of Spice Girl reunion rumours.

Geri's daughter Bluebell, from a previous relationship, walked her mum down the aisle

"I think it's really flattering that people are still so supportive of the Spice Girls individually and collectively... it's so nice," she said. "It's one of those things that's been discussed and until something is concrete…"

"It'd be nice to celebrate [the anniversary] in some way," Geri added. "So I think I can say that there have been talks. I think that's fair and honest."
