Spencer Matthews and Darius Campbell were among the stars who turned out to support Scotland's most glamorous fundraising event last week – 'Lunch with an Old Bag'. Alongside 400 attendees, the celebrities joined forces to raise funds for The Prince's Trust Scotland, a charity that helps disadvantaged young people.

Guests enjoyed lunch as well as the chance to outbid each other for a range of designer bags, from Chanel to Mulberry to Fendi.

A selection of "money can't buy" prizes also went up for grabs, including a uniquely magical bedtime story read by Oscar winner and fashion icon Tilda Swinton.

Judy Murray, who was unable to attend the event but is a strong supporter of the charity, donated two prizes that sold for a grand total of £31,000. The overall amount raised from the day was more than £1.6million.

"This year's 'Lunch with an Old Bag' for The Prince's Trust Scotland has been truly fabulous!" said Fiona Donaldson, chair of the LWOB Volunteer Committee.

"Over the past six years we have raised more than £1.6 million for disadvantaged young people, which means 1,600 young lives transformed. We would like to thank all our amazing supporters for their generosity – we couldn't have done it without them!

"In today's society women over 40 are often inappropriately perceived as 'Old Bags', as 'over the hill' or 'past it', in much the same way as disadvantaged young people are wrongly labelled as layabouts and losers.

"'Lunch with an Old Bag' celebrates the glamour and grace of women who aren't afraid of birthdays, and shines a light on the issues faced by young people in Scotland. And we always have great fun in the process!"
