In a frank and emotional interview, Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she and her husband John Legend have struggled to start a family. The model, who has been married to John for two years, admitted that if she could, she would have had children years ago.

"John and I were having trouble," Chrissy said, while speaking to Tyra Banks on daytime talk show FABlife. "We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened. But my gosh, it's been a process."

The 29-year-old admitted that she and John have visited fertility doctors. "Once you open up about those things to other people you learn that a lot of other people in your life are seeing these people and they have this shame about it," said Chrissy.

"We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened," said Chrissy Teigen

"I will say, just being two years into being married, the questions just come from all over," she added. "It's kind of crazy because I can't imagine being that nosy to be like, 'So, when are the kids coming?' because who knows what somebody's going through.

"So anytime somebody asks if I'm going to have kids I'm just like, 'One day you're going to ask that to the wrong girl who is really struggling and it's going to be really hurtful to them and I hate that. Stop asking me.'"

Tyra, who recently admitted that she too has had problems conceiving, empathised with Chrissy and was visibly moved to tears by the model's admission.

The 29-year-old model admitted that she and John Legend were "having trouble" to conceive

"I'm so tired of seeing on my social media, 'why don't you have kids, why don't you have kids?'" said Tyra. "You don't know, you don't know what I'm going through. You have no idea."

Earlier this week the 41-year-old supermodel admitted that she had undergone IVF treatment in the hope of starting a family.

"I've had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments," said Tyra, who has been dating photographer boyfriend Erik Asla for two years. "It's difficult as you get older. It's not something that can just happen."
