Dawn and Graham are parents to three children – Charlie, 21, Eleanor, 10 and 18-year-old Harvey. Their youngest son has cerebral palsy, and Dawn has previously praised her "fantastic" husband for taking on the childcare so she can pursue her career. In 2010, she told a local magazine: "He will take this child to netball and that child swimming but – and I am sure it's the same in a lot of families – he'll do it as long as I tell him he's doing it and send a text to remind him!"The couple had been living together in rural Gloucestershire, where they both work as GPs in local surgeries. Dawn has previously admitted she never even dreamt of becoming a TV doctor, until she started writing a magazine column and was then offered a role onscreen.
