Novak Djokovic and Jelena Ristic married in a wedding ceremony exclusively covered by HELLO! magazine last summer, but the couple's love story began many years before. On 23 September, Novak and his high school sweetheart Jelena celebrated ten years together.
The tennis ace and three-time Wimbledon champion took to Twitter to show his love and appreciation for his other half.
"We are celebrating today!" wrote Novak. "It's our anniversary #10years with my love @JelenaRisticNDF <3."
Jelena Ristic and Novak Djokovic married in July 2014
The 28-year-old and his wife, who are parents to 11-month-old son Stefan, were pictured ecstatically jumping for joy as they held hands.
Last year in July, Novak and Jelena said "I do" in both a church ceremony and a wedding held in the grounds of Montenegro's Aman Sveti Stefan resort.
The bride, who was heavily pregnant with her baby boy at the time, wore an exquisite gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen – the same designer who created the Duchess of Cambridge's lace dress.
The lovebirds started dating in high school ten years ago
"Seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress, smiling and walking towards me… She looked like an angel," Novak told HELLO! magazine. "I was trying to be present in that moment and memorise it. I was focused on her, and her smile, and our baby. It really was a perfect moment."
"I was very nervous and everything seemed a blur," added Jelena. "I was seeing him through tears and immediately started crying when I saw him. "I was just so happy and probably being pregnant makes it quite difficult to control the emotions. I am so blessed to have him in my life. I couldn't ask for a better partner than him."
Baby Stefan was born in October 2014, a few months after Novak secured his third Wimbledon win
Novak, who is currently ranked world No. 1 in men's singles tennis, often shares photos of his baby on Instagram, although he maintains a degree of privacy by hiding his son's face.
Last week the Serbian tennis star shared an adorable snap of Novak and baby Stefan bonding, with the little boy reaching out for his dad's tennis racket. "A little post tournament hang time with my boy :)," wrote Novak. "He says just the right things to make a wonderful day even better! #playtimefun #Noleday."
