Sheridan Smith is dating again following her split from actor Greg Wood. The Cilla actress is reportedly seeing The Enemy rocker Andy Hopkins after asking him out on Twitter.

A source told The Sun that Sheridan knows Andy's brother, and instigated the romance by asking him if he wanted to meet up.

"Straight away there was chemistry," the source said. "They're quite alike as neither of them take fame very seriously, though they are both passionate about their careers."

While the couple are yet to take their romance public, Sheridan tweeted her support to Andy's latest single on Twitter at the beginning of September, writing: "Check out my friends' @theenemyband's new track." The message was also retweeted by Andy.

The 34-year-old has been single since ending her relationship with Hollyoaks star Greg Wood in July. Sheridan appeared to be heartbroken about the split, tweeting that she had been "hurt by an idiot boy again".

Sheridan was also said to have struck up a bond with Greg on Twitter, after they exchanged a series of messages on the social media site in November. They were first seen together in January, and made their romance public when Greg accompanied Sheridan to the National Television Awards in London.

Their relationship appeared to get serious quite quickly, with the pair both getting matching tattoos in March. According to reports, the dedicated duo designed their own "All in" pair of aces, which Sheridan had inked on her ribs and Greg on his upper arm. Sheridan also had the words "Gregory's Girl" written above the inking, while Greg opted for the words "My Sheri Amour".
