Chris Brown was celebrating on Monday after his custody battle with his daughter's mother Nia Guzman was resolved. The 26-year-old has been granted joint custody of his daughter Royalty, who will also share his surname.

Sources connected to the case told TMZ that Chris will have custody of the one-year-old for 12 days each month, with no supervised visitation. The Loyal singer has reportedly agreed to pay Nia $2,500 a month plus $15,000 in back support, as well as pay for Royalty's schooling, health insurance, medical bills and nannies.

Chris appeared to be happy with the ruling judging by the tweet he sent after leaving court on Monday. "Court went great today. Glad this all worked out," he told his fans.

The star was required to submit a drug test as part of the hearing, which reportedly came back positive for both marijuana and codeine, but he is said to have had a prescription for both.

It emerged in March that Chris had secretly become a father with his friend Nia, with the news spelling the end of his on-off relationship with Karrueche Tran. Since the news went public Chris has fully embraced his new role as a dad, regularly sharing adorable snaps and videos of the youngster on Instagram.

Royalty was even Chris' plus one for the Billboard Music Awards in May, where she made her first red carpet appearance at the tender age of 11 months. The youngster has since celebrated her first birthday in style with a Princess themed party hosted by her doting dad in June.

Chris is so smitten with his daughter he has even named his next album after her, and has been vocal about his role as a father on social media. Tweeting in the middle of his custody battle, he told fans: "Some men my age run from their responsibility as fathers. I embrace mine."
