She has previously said that her boyfriend Dougie Poynter is "the one" and now Ellie Goulding has admitted she is ready to walk down the aisle. The Burn singer has been dating the McBusted star for a year and a half, and the pair have been inseparable since.

Ellie, who is preparing for the release of her third studio album Delirium, admitted that she has taken a U-turn in her view towards marriage.

When asked whether she wanted to say "I do", Ellie responded: "God, yes! I'm nearly 30."

Ellie Goulding said she loved the idea of having a traditional wedding

The 28-year-old added to Glamour: "I once had a pretty warped view of marriage because so many people around me had divorced parents. So for a long time I did think that I'd never get married and that men were rubbish – all that stuff.

"But when someone comes along and re-establishes that trust, [whispering now in case Dougie overhears] then it's nice to think of doing everything the traditional way: having a church wedding, with all my family in one place – I love the idea of that."

The couple, who have matching tattoos, have been dating since early 2014

Ellie, who was abandoned by her father when she was just five-years-old, has previously spoken about battling her inner demons over the way she looked. Now one of Britain's most famous exports, the Starry Eyed singer said she focuses more on her music than her image.

"I haven't changed anything about myself, but I feel more confident now because I've realised I've got a lot to offer that's not about how I look," said Ellie. "I feel like I've got a good sense of humour and I like to think that I'm a smart person – and the truth is that you can't spend every day worrying about your looks."

Ellie and 27-year-old Dougie were first linked at the beginning of last year but the couple only confirmed their romance in May of that year. The lovebirds have enjoyed many romantic breaks together, including a trip to Ibiza and the Scottish Highlands, and have even supported each other on stage.

In February Ellie flew out to Australia to cheer on Dougie and his fellow bandmates when McBusted were supporting One Direction on their tour. Closer to home, the blonde beauty arranged a charity gig in support of Streets of London, and she was more than happy to share the stage with her doting boyfriend.

"He is definitely the one forever," Ellie has told Elle previously.
