In a revelation that may surprise her high fashion followers who might expect her tastes to run to champagne, David Beckham has said that his wife's favourite tipple is tequila. The former football star told Conde Nast magazine that he recently bought Victoria a special bottle of the Mexican spirit after a work trip to the Latin country.
"She loves it (tequila), which is a very new thing. I think everyone's had their moment with tequila over the years, but when you get older you appreciate it a bit more."
David had the opportunity to pick up the thoughtful gift when he travelled to Mexico City to shoot a promotional film with Harvey Keital called The Outlaws. The sports hero obviously prefers whisky himself, which is why he developed his own brand called Haig Club.
While they differ on their taste in drinks, the Beckhams are right in sync when it comes to clothes. The 40-year-old says love his wife's fashion sense and especially when she wears jeans paired with their son Brooklyn's Converses.
He also turns to her when it comes to his own style, admitting that she has the final word on his outfits.
"Frankly, it's hard - very, very hard - for Victoria to look bad in anything.
"But there are definitely times when I've worn things and she's said, 'Nice try, go back upstairs'."
David seems to have lived on a plane in the last few months, so it comes as no surprise to hear that he is longing for some family time. Posting a fun picture of himself with friend Dave Gardner dressed as Freddie Mercury, he wrote that he was missing his "beautiful wife and unbelievable children".
