Cathriona White, the late ex-girlfriend of Jim Carrey, was married to another man at the time of her death. A Medical Examiner's official revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that Cathriona had a spouse who was listed as her next of kin.A source confirmed the news to People magazine, adding: "She was separated and she was going to start divorce proceedings in December."

It is not known how long the 30-year-old make-up artist was married for, or when the separation took place.Cathriona passed away at her home on LA on 28 September after an apparent suicide. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter has since revealed that four prescription medicines were found at the time of her death – none of which were in her name.A source confirmed to People that some of the pills belonged to 53-year-old Jim, and had been prescribed to him under one of his alias names. "(Cathriona) took them from his house. He had no idea. He wasn't actively using them and therefore he had no idea they were even missing. "The insider added: "There is no criminal investigation on him and he has already spoken to the authorities."

Jim Carrey dated Cathriona on-and-off for three years

Jim and Cathriona dated on-and-off for three years after they met on the set of a movie in 2012. The assistant chief coroner has previously confirmed that several letters were found on the scene when Cathriona's body was discovered – one of which was addressed to Jim.The Hollywood star has been helping Cathriona's heartbroken family since they arrived in LA to make arrangements to take her body back home to Ireland.Shortly after news of Cathriona's death broke, Jim issued an emotional statement saying he was "shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona"."She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," he said.
