Beyoncé Knowles was among a bevy of stars who celebrated Ciara's 30th birthday on Saturday night. The Halo singer dressed up as Storm from X-Men for the superhero-themed party, alongside celebrities including Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams and TV personality LaLa Anthony.
The party was a surprise organised by Ciara's boyfriend Russell Wilson, whom she has been dating since April. The Goodies singer is said to have been told she was attending a movie premiere, but when she arrived at the Warner Brothers lot in California she was met by Russell, who was dressed as Batman and standing next to a Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Ciara was soon transformed into Catwoman, and wrote on her Instagram account that it was "the best surprise birthday party ever". Around 100 friends and family gathered at the studios for the celebrations, all dressed up in their finest superhero costumes.
Leading the way was Beyoncé, who donned a platinum wig and coloured contact lenses to become Storm from X-Men. The 34-year-old posed for photos alongside her former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, as well as her mother Tina Knowles, who looked almost unrecognisable in her superhero costume.

LaLa took the opportunity to wish her "partner in crime" a happy birthday by sharing photos from the night. One showed LaLa dressed as Wonder Woman striking a pose next to Ciara, with the caption: "Last night was an unbelievable night!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my partner in crime, the yin to my yang, the Thelma to my Louise. I love you so much @ciara #bffs #4eva."

"They screamed 'Surprise!' as Ciara and Russell exited the sleek black car," a source told People of Ciara's arrival at the party. "Ciara was overwhelmed with emotion and began to cry tears of joy."
