Kate Hudson has been single for almost a year following her split from Matt Bellamy, but she isn't complaining. The Almost Famous star said she is enjoying having some time on her own after her four-year relationship came to an end.
"It's nice to get acquainted with myself alone," Kate told Harper's Bazaar. "You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It's to try and stay in the relationship. But if it doesn't work, you can't force things."
Kate Hudson said she is happy to be single
Kate and Muse frontman Matt announced that they had called off their engagement in December 2014, but remain friends and co-parents to their four-year-old son Bingham.
The 36-year-old has previously said the split was for the best because she and Matt had different ideas of where they wanted to be in the future.
"Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it," Kate told Allure. "If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives. That doesn't mean, though, that we can't rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids."

While Kate is happily single, she was recently linked to Nick Jonas after the pair were spotted enjoying a fun-filled weekend together in Orlando. The duo, who have a 13-year age gap between them, reportedly enjoyed a brief romance at the end of September.
"It was just a fling," a source close to Kate told People. "It's definitely not anything serious. They are both single and seeing other people too. Kate's mostly focusing on her boys and doesn't want a serious relationship right now."
While both Kate and Nick declined to answer questions about their blossoming romance, her ex Matt has happily moved on with model and actress Elle Evans, who he has been dating since April.
