Kanye West is not the only A-Lister with a presidential bid set in his sights. Will Smith has hinted that he too could move into politics in the future after becoming increasingly "incensed" by the political landscape in America.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on its Awards Chatter podcast, Will revealed: "As I look at the political landscape, I think that there might be a future out there for me. They might need me out there."

The father-of-three said that after accomplishing so much with both his music and acting, he wanted to make himself "useful to people" in another way.

Will Smith says he wants to get more involved in politics

"I'm a climber, so if I see a mountain, I have to climb it. I'm not a camper; I don't like hanging in one place too long," Will said. "So I think, at this point, I'm elevating my ability to be useful in the world. I think that's what my grandmother always hoped, that I would make myself useful to people in this lifetime."

Will continued to explain that his desire to become more involved in politics was sparked by events in the last year.

"This is the first year that I've been incensed to a level that I can't sleep, you know? So I'm feeling that at some point, in the near future, I will have to lend my voice to the conversation in a somewhat different way."

Kanye West also announced that he intends to run for president in 2020

The 47-year-old is not the only famous face to have expressed their intention to become more involved in politics recently; Kanye West used his acceptance speech at August's MTV Video Music Awards as the opportunity to announce that he will run for US president in 2020.

Towards the end of his epic speech, the 38-year-old said: "If my grandfather was here right now, he would not let me back down. I don't know what I stand to lose after this. It don't matter, though, because it ain't about me, it's about ideas, bro.

"New ideas. People with ideas, people who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."
