He began the series as a favourite to win, but Peter Andre has become the ninth contestant to be voted off this year’s Strictly Come Dancing competition. Speaking about his time on the show the singer said "It’s been nothing but joy. "On Saturday evening, all of the couples danced twice, as well as competing in a "quickstep-a-thon". The dancers were awarded points from one to seven, one being the lowest score and seven the highest, which was added to their judge’s score to create their overall leader board points.

After discovering the viewer’s votes, Peter Andre and his professional dance partner Janette Manrara found themselves in the dreaded dance off against Kellie Bright.Determined to stay in the competition the dad-of-three threw himself into the american smooth which they performed to the Sweetest Feeling by Jackie Wilson. Equally as eager to continue in the competition Kellie and her partner Kevin Clifton pulled off an impressive Salsa to the Jackson 5 song I Want You Back.After both couples’ performances the judges delivered their verdicts. Craig Revel Horwood admitted he found it very difficult to choose but in the end opted to save Kellie and Kevin. The following three judges agreed, praising the actress’ technical ability.

Speaking to host Tess Daly following his elimination Peter said, "We’ve come so far. Like I said before there is no shame in leaving, we are so grateful. I love everybody. Thank you. "Echoing his sentiments partner Janette added: "I definitely have made a friend for life, we got on straight away. He worked so hard in rehearsals; we had ups and downs and pushed through them. I love you and I am so glad to have you as part of my life going forward. "Next week the remaining six celebrities will perform dances to the theme Strictly goes to the musicals.
