Poldark star Aidan Turner is back on the market. Speaking in an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the actor confirmed he had split from his long-term girlfriend Sarah Greene, but refused to go into any details about what had happened.
Aidan said that he wanted the focus to remain on his acting, explaining: "I like to keep my private life private for my own head. It's important to me that people don't know too much about me because I'm trying to play characters.

"Sometimes you see actors who are really good, but you have trouble separating that actor from the celebrity profile. I don't want to be one of those guys. It helps that people don't know a lot about me, I guess."
News of the split comes just months after Sarah denied that she and Aidan were engaged. The Irish beauty set the record straight when spotted out and about in Dublin in March, having attended the JDIFF's Expressing Emotion: Actors in Conversation event with her beau.

"I'm not engaged," said Sarah as reported by Goss.ie, after being at the centre of engagement reports.
It is not known why the couple parted ways. Reports earlier in the year suggested they were "really close and happy" and that "marriage is the logical next step for them".
"Sarah is perfect for him, she's very protective," a source told the Sunday Express. "Both of them don't really go for the glitzy side of showbusiness; they're happier spending quiet evenings playing Scrabble."
Aidan is currently living in Bristol while he films season two of Poldark. The star is resuming his role of Captain Ross Poldark in the BBC period drama, which pulled in around eight million viewers when it first aired in spring 2015.
