Christmas has come early to the Rooney household! Footballer Wayne, his wife Coleen and the couple's two boys Kai and Klay are getting into the festive spirit and have already put up their gorgeous tree.

Coleen, who is pregnant with her third child, gave fans a glimpse into her home as she posted a few photos on Instagram.

Her lavish tree was decorated with big silver bows, gold ribbons, baubles and pinecones and finished with a glittering gold topper.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Rooney household

"Exciting," Coleen captioned the picture, which also showed off a cosy open fireplace and an array of white candles in the living room.

Coleen also opened up about one of her family's traditions – the return of the Christmas elves who keep watch and make sure that her children Kai, six, and two-year-old Klay are being good.

The elves, named Eddie and Ernie, appear in a different place each morning to keep the two boys on their toes.

Fans speculated that Coleen is expecting a girl, when the star revealed that her third elf is called Emma

Coleen's photo prompted some fans to speculate that the doting mum is expecting a girl; her third and new elf is called Emma.

"Kai and Klay we're back!" a message on a chalkboard read. "We are so excited to be spending December at your lovely home. Hopefully you are going to be very good boys, so we can tell Father Christmas. Meet our new friend Emma. Be good! Eddie and Ernie xxx."

Embracing her arty side, Coleen also shared a photo decorating a star. The 29-year-old was showing her support for Claire House Children's Hospice.

The 29-year-old is due to give birth in January

Coleen is due to give birth in January. Speaking previously to HELLO! magazine shortly after announcing her pregnancy, the Liverpool-born beauty admitted that a daughter "would be nice".

"I honestly don't mind," said Coleen. "But a girl would be nice to complete the family, of course."

Adding that she was feeling "great", she said: "I was really tired during the first few weeks, but I think when you've got other kids, you've just got to get on with it."
