While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's son is believed to be due on Christmas day, the rapper doesn't believe they'll have to wait that long. Speaking as he accepted his Shoe of the Year award at the Footwear News Annual Achievement Awards on Wednesday evening, the dad-to-be revealed his excitement at meeting his baby boy "any day now".

The rapper joked: "I'm waiting on my son to arrive any day now. I look at my daughter and I look at my wife and she's rich and I don't plan on being broke."

While the couple are understandably excited to welcome their baby boy, Kim has admitted she is nervous about going into labour following a series of health complications. Most recently Kim underwent a procedure she described as "more painful than childbirth", after learning that her baby was in a breech position.

Kim would have had to have a caesarean if her baby hadn't turned naturally, so she checked into hospital over the Thanksgiving weekend to move him into a head-down position.

Writing on her official website, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star posted: "I underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from breech position to a head-down position.

"They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby. There was a risk that my water might break or the baby's heart rate could drop – in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place. I went in with my sisters and my husband. I was prepared for it all!"

She added: "They don't give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth. BUT it worked!!! My baby is in the right position and it feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section."
