Amanda Seyfried celebrated her 30th birthday with her nearest and dearest on Thursday. The Les Miserables star rang in her special day with her mum Ann and sister Jennifer, along with her adorable pet dog Finley.

The birthday girl shared a black-and-white picture of herself and her canine companion, both donning matching party hats as they celebrated at Amanda's home.

"Life's okay," Amanda captioned the photo.

Another photo Amanda posted on Instagram showed her looking surprised as she held a birthday cake decorated with 30 colourful candles. With her mum and sister standing by her side and a number of balloons in the background, it appeared to be an evening of fun family celebrations.

As Amanda approached the milestone birthday, she expressed her shock at how quickly time had passed since she entered her 20s. Speaking to E! News in March, Amanda said: "I'm turning 30 and sometimes I think, 'God, where did the last decade go? I would kill to be 20. Life is short. Every year I think more about my mortality. I think it's normal."

While the Mama Mia star feels 30 has come round too quickly, it appears she is in no rush to settle down. Amanda is believed to have split from her boyfriend of two years, Justin Long, in September due to their opposing views on marriage.

"He wanted to get married, she wasn't ready to make the commitment," a source told the New York Post's Page Six at the time of the split.

Indeed Amanda appeared to hint that she wasn't interested in getting married in an interview with Marie Claire in July, explaining: "You never know how committed you are when you're [both] always working, it's just a good feeling to know that you love each other. That's the most important thing.

"It's like, 'Are we here?' We love each other, we respect each other, and it's a nice place to be. I just don't want the big wedding."
