Dame Shirley Bassey revealed she has a secret passion for boxing
Speaking to HELLO! during an exclusive photo-shoot at The Ritz Hotel in London, Dame Shirley and classical trio Blake talk about the charity Christmas single they are releasing together - a cover of Nat King Cole’s classic The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).
The Cardiff-born singer also recalls a close encounter with the Prince of Wales.
"I've met all of the royal family but Prince Charles was the first," she says. "They asked me to sing for the Prince’s Trust in Llandudno. When I got up on stage the Welsh women shouted, 'Give him a kiss'. And he said, 'Well, let’s not disappoint them.' I have this wonderful photograph on the wall in my apartment where he’s giving me a kiss."
