Kristin Cavallari: 'My heart is in a million pieces' after missing brother found dead

Kristin Cavallari has paid tribute to her brother, who has been found dead after disappearing during a road trip several days ago. The Hills star wrote a touching message on Instagram alongside a throwback photograph of herself with her brother as children. "My heart is in a million pieces," wrote Kristin. "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."

Michael, who was aged 30, disappeared the day after Thanksgiving. Soon after, his car was found abandoned on a highway in Grand County, Utah.

A statement on Thursday broke the sad news. Kristin, 28, said: "We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. "This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving. "While her brother was missing, Kristin shared her gratitude to fans for their support, and revealed she was still "hopeful" that he would be found.

"I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to me and my family," she wrote. "We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support. "Kristin rose to fame in 2004 as a star on the reality show Laguna Beach, followed by The Hills, alongside stars including Lauren Conrad, Brody Jenner, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.She and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler are parents to two little boys; Camden, three and one-year-old Jaxon, and their little girl Saylor James, who was born on 23 November.
