Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey seems to have everything he could wish for – an acclaimed career, a home filled with acting trophies, including that coveted Academy Award, and a beautiful wife and three children. But even Matthew, 46, still gets excited about Christmas.

"I like staying up really late," said Matthew. "And then coming out the next morning and the kids are like, 'How did Santa do that? He covers the world all over.' Last year I told them he moved from east to west and it's later over there and so he can do very many things. Explaining that was fun."

The actor, who is the proud dad to Levi, seven, Vida, five, and two-year-old son Livingston, also opened up about how he celebrates Christmas.
"Now as a parent, you're up late on the 24th because you've got to do the Santa things after the kids have gone down," said Matthew. "It's hard to get them to sleep."
"To get all the kids together is great," he added. "My children's best friends are my brother's children. We stay at home and tell the stories – some of the same old stories are always told. That's always been the most important tradition, to have my family together."
For New Years, the McConaugheys take inspiration from Camila Alves' Brazilian roots.
"My wife's tradition in her country is to wear all white and go to the ocean and get little white flowers and put them in the sea," said Matthew. "We've done it the last few years."
One of the actor's latest projects has been working as the face of the Dolce & Gabbana The One fragrance. In a short Q and A, Matthew revealed that he was always most excited to see his son, while his daughter always made him laugh – and drives him crazy.
