It's the most special time of the year and so naturally, Elton John and his husband David Furnish took their two sons to the most magical place on Earth – Disneyland. Not only was the family embracing the Christmas spirit, but they were also marking young Zachary's fifth birthday.
Travelling to the resort in the city of Anaheim, California, the family kicked off their fun-filled adventure. It was Zachary and Elijah's first trip to Disneyland, so the boys will no doubt have been thrilled to meet the famous characters and go on all the rides.

From the tea cup rides to the "it's a small world" water ride, the youngsters experienced it all. And of course a trip to the magical kingdom wouldn’t be complete without a meet and greet with the theme park's most famous resident – Mickey Mouse.
"Mickey hugs for Elijah," Elton captioned an Instagram photo of his younger son, who turns three in January.

They rounded off the day with the traditional Christmas parade down Main Street, where Elton and his family took in the spectacular displays.
The visit was clearly a success, as filmmaker David took to Instagram to write: "Such a treat to take our boys on their very first trip to Disneyland today. Here's a glimpse of the most spectacular Christmas parade. Thanks to everyone at the park for looking after us so brilliantly."
"It's a small world after all," wrote Elton
It's fair to say that this time of the year is the most special for Elton and David. They not only welcomed their first son on Christmas Day 2010, but they also formed a civil partnership ten years ago on 21 December 2005.
The pair were among the first couples in the UK to do so and in December 2014, Elton and David officially married at their lavish estate in Berkshire on the ninth anniversary of their civil partnership.

Marking the incredible milestone, Elton captioned a photo collage from 2005 and 2014: "Ten years ago today, we were one of the first couples to embark on a Civil Partnership in the UK. One year ago today, we renewed our lifetime pledge to each other by getting legally married. Today, we are happier than ever – and want to thank fans and friends for supporting us with such open hearts and joyful spirit."
