If there was any singer prepared to cover Adele's Hello, it would be Celine Dion. The Canadian songbird rose to the challenge during a concert at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas last week, just hours before ringing in the New Year.

"So tonight, if I may, I would like Adele to be part of our New Year's Eve," Celine told her legion of fans. "Don't panic she's not in the building."
Celine Dion gave a pitch perfect rendition of Adele's Hello
The My Heart Will Go On singer then joked: "Do we need to change the battery? My microphone kind of lost it a little bit. Adele? Hello? Hello?"
"Just for fun, okay?" she added, as the backing orchestra struck up the first notes.
Celine, who shimmered in a sequined dress that featured a thigh-high split, then gave a spectacular surprise rendition of Hello. The 47-year-old put her own twist on the hit number one, reaching the high notes with perfection.
Celine returned to her Las Vegas residency in August, after taking care of her ailing husband René Angelil
"Hello, happy new year," Celine sang at the end, her last message to the revellers. "Hello, I thank you. Hello, be safe."
The singer's final concert of 2015 was part of her Las Vegas residency, which Celine resumed in August. The songwriter had taken a hiatus to look after her ailing husband René Angelil, who suffers from terminal throat cancer.
"Back home at The Colosseum @CaesarsPalace for another series of concerts!" Celine wrote on Instagram. "De retour ce soir!"
Celine admitted it was her husband who pushed her to return to the stage
Last summer the doting wife and mum-of-three admitted it was René, her first and former manager, who pushed her to go back on stage. At a later date she added that her 73-year-old husband was "doing great" and was "stable".
"I'm amazed by him even more than ever before," Celine said on Good Morning America. "I was in love with him the first day, and today I find strength and I look at him and I learn so much from him."
Despite the 26-year age difference, Celine and René married in December 1994. Speaking about the union a year later Celine said: "I'm not surprised that we married each other, because we have the same dreams. We have the same goals. We respect each other."
